New secure portal developed for CHS customers

As you know, CompManagement Health Systems (CHS) routinely deals with highly sensitive information regarding medical conditions and treatment for thousands of injured employees in Ohio. It is a high priority for us at CHS, as well as a requirement of the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC), that we use great care in protecting sensitive material, including injured employees’ names and claim numbers.

Over the past several years, we have utilized password-protected attachments to communicate sensitive information via email. While this method has served its purpose and met BWC requirements, we have developed an alternative for secure email transmission that we believe you’ll find more convenient to use. We have established a secure internet portal through Proofpoint that will allow us to exchange sensitive information in the body of an email. Any attached files will be secure without the need for password protection. This new process enhances security and streamlines your access to the protected material.

Beginning this month, sensitive claim information from CHS will be sent to you in a secure email with a link to the Proofpoint portal where you will be prompted to establish a username and password. Subsequent secure emails from CHS will prompt you only for your password to view the email and any attached material.

Emails that are encrypted in this manner will appear in your inbox marked as normal. The subject line will include limited details and only portions of referenced claim numbers. Keep in mind that only sensitive information including your employee’s name, claim number, and any documents containing specific treatment and diagnostic details must be transmitted with this level of security.
